I have used Windows File Explorer for several years, and over that time, I have not always liked the tool. In fact, I often find myself installing extra free tools just to make File Explorer better.
Microsoft wants you to use the cloud, but there are a lot of good options — including trusty old network file sharing and a little-known modern Windows feature. Remember the HomeGroup on Windows 7?
