The City of Shenandoah has hired Bleyl Engineering to manage the design and construction of a sanitary sewer system and a new water system in the historic Tamina community.

Shenandoah began as a bedroom community of 500 homes and was incorporated into a city in 1974. The city limits encompass two square miles that straddle Interstate 45.

Shenandoah is a General Law city with a population of approximately 4,000 people. The city is governed by an elected city council with six members - five council members and a mayor.
